IMC COLLEGE CLASH: CS:GO edition

1. Eligibility

1.1    In order to compete in the IMC College Clash, all members of a team must be registered and have joined said team on FACEIT.com. This must be done no later than the end of our registration date/time.

1.2    Each team must have a minimum of five (5) players that are eligible to play for each match. Failure to provide the minimum number of players could result in disqualification.

1.3    All members of a roster must have their Steam account in good standing. This includes not being VAC banned, trade banned, or restricted in any way due to toxicity, breaking game rules, or not complying with Steam / Valve code of conduct.

2. Competition Structure and Dates

2.1.    All matches will be played in a single-elimination bracket. Day 1 will include Round 1 and Round 2, both Best of 1. Day 2 will include Round 3, Round 4, and Quarterfinals, all Best of 1. Day 3 will include Semifinals and Grand Finals, both Best of 3. 

2.2    The captain of each team must be ready to check in within 60 minutes before their scheduled match time. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. Check-in appears on the Faceit website, if you have any questions or concerns - please contact a tournament admin.

2.3    Any team that checks in on time but fails to join the lobby more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time, will be disqualified.

3. Gameplay Rules and Format

3.1    Map Veto Process:

Best of 1:
Teams ban maps until 1 map remains, which is the map to be played. The map veto process will be run through the Faceit platform. Please alert an admin if you have any issues or questions regarding the process.

Best of 3:
Ban, Ban, Pick, Pick, Ban, Ban, Decider

3.2    After the completion of a match, the score must be reported through Faceit, please also make sure to take a screenshot of the scoreboard in case of a dispute. If there is a dispute with a match score or result, a tournament administrator must be contacted immediately.

3.3    Each team will have five (5) minutes of pause time each map to address technical delays or disconnections. Teams will only be allowed to pause during the buy phase of a round. Pausing at any other time or for any reason deemed unreasonable by a tournament administrator can result in forfeiture of rounds or the map.

3.4    Both teams may agree to restart a map prior to Round 3 beginning if the latency is unreasonable for the server selected.

3.5    Team Liquid reserves the right to broadcast any match being played. The match will be hosted as normal, and a spectator will be added to the lobby to observe the match.

3.6    If a team’s match is not being streamed by Team Liquid, players may stream their perspective of the match with a minimum two-minute delay, to ensure competitive integrity.

3.7    Misinterpretation/Misconfiguration:

Matches are not to be replayed due to a misinterpretation of the rules OR misconfiguration of game settings, excluding player-specific settings. Game settings should be configured according to section 3.1 and 3.2. It is the player’s responsibility to ask the TO for any clarification of the rule set in the event of a disagreement. The outcome of a Match will not be changed after the fact, unless under extreme circumstances. Judgment is reserved for tournament staff.


4. Player Conduct


4.1    Any team member who breaks Team Liquid or Valve code of conduct, which prohibits the use of sexism, racism, hate speech, targeted harassment, or any other behaviour of discrimination, will be immediately disqualified from the tournament.

4.2    Any team member who is displaying excessive toxic behaviour during matches may also be disqualified at the discretion of a tournament administrator.

4.3    To report a player for breaking this conduct, please send a screenshot of the offending behaviour to a tournament administrator. DO NOT start a conflict or engage in the toxic behaviour yourself, report the issue and let the tournament administrators handle it.

4.4 Collusion

Players suspected of colluding may be immediately disqualified from the tournament. This includes intentionally throwing a game, splitting a payout/prizes(s), or committing any other form of bracket manipulation. The TO reserves the right to deny payout of event winnings/prize(s) to any player suspected of cheating or colluding.

4.5 Competitive Integrity

In all competitions there should be a fair playing field for all players.

Any use of third party software, glitches, bugs or exploits to gain an unfair advantage is strictly forbidden, please contact a tournament admin to clarify if you are not sure if specific mechanic is intentional or a bug. 

If you suspect the enemy team is using un-intended mechanics, please take a screenshot / record a video and report it to one of our tournament admins.

Organizers reserve the right to withhold payout/prize(s) if any of these rules are violated.

4.6 Coaches / Spectators

Only the 10 players who are actively playing, and the tournament officials, official broadcasters are allowed to observe a match. Other players, coaches or managers of a team may not join a lobby. Coaches are only allowed to talk to players and others during Map selection process for each Match, timeouts, half-times and in between Maps (if applicable). Players are permitted to share their live gameplay footage with their coach in real-time.

4.7 Substitute Players:
Each team will be allowed one (2) substitute players as part of their roster, and have the chance to perform two (2) roster changes during the course of the event. If you have any questions or concerns, please let one of our tournament admins know as soon as possible.
